Uses
The main use of sodium gluconate in the construction field is as a cement water reducer, often referred to as sodium gluconate water reducer or G water reducer. It can improve the fluidity of concrete and reduce the amount of cement used by controlling the rate and degree of cement hydration reaction, thereby improving the strength and durability of concrete.
In addition, sodium gluconate can also be used as a concrete reinforcing agent and antifreeze to improve the frost resistance and durability of concrete.
In terms of building maintenance and upkeep, sodium gluconate can be used to clean and remove rust, stains, and other pollutants from concrete surfaces.
