Properties: pepsinogen secreted by main cells of gastric mucosa is extracted by activation under the condition of pH 1.5 ~ 5.0. It is white or light yellow powder. The molecular weight is about 34500. Soluble in water, milky white in varying degrees, almost insoluble in alcohol, chloroform and ether. The activity of aqueous solution is destroyed quickly when heated to 70 ℃ or in alkaline solution, but the dried product can be heat-resistant to 100 ℃, with hygroscopicity, slight acid and salt taste.

Storage: 2-8 ℃.

Usage: digestive aid, used for dyspepsia caused by lack of pepsin or decreased digestive function after disease; This product can decompose the solidified protein after gastric acid into peptone, but can not further decompose it into amino acids. Its digestibility is the strongest with 0.2% ~ 0.4% hydrochloric acid (pH = 1.6 ~ 1.8).
