N-Phenylacetamide
Applications Of N-Phenylacetamide:
N-Phenylacetamide is the raw material of sulfonamides, which can be used as analgesic, antipyretic and preservative. It is used to manufacture dye intermediates p-nitroacetanilide, p-nitroaniline and p-phenylenediamine. It was widely used in the manufacture of p-acetaminobenzene sulfonyl chloride during the Second World War. Acetanilide is also used to make thioacetamide. In industry, it can be used as rubber vulcanization accelerator, stabilizer of cellulosic paint, stabilizer of hydrogen peroxide, and synthetic camphor.

Chemical properties: white shiny flake crystal or white crystalline powder. Odorless. Slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water, methanol, ethanol, ether, chloroform, acetone, glycerol and benzene.
N-acetanilide is white glossy flake crystal or white crystal powder, odorless, slightly burnt taste, slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water, methanol, ethanol, ether, chloroform, acetone, glycerol and benzene. N-acetanilide is the raw material and intermediate of sulfonamides, rubber vulcanization accelerators, dyes and synthetic camphor. It can also be used as analytical reagent, standard sample for quantitative analysis of organic elements (C, h, n), determination of cerium, chromium, lead, nitrate, nitrite and stabilizer of hydrogen peroxide.
