M-Terphenyl
Product Introduction
Terphenyls are a group of closely related aromatic hydrocarbons. Also known as diphenylbenzenes or triphenyls, they consist of a central benzene ring substituted with two phenyl groups. The three isomers are ortho-terphenyl, meta-terphenyl, and para-terphenyl. Meta-terphenyl is white crystal and soluble in benzene, acetone and chloroform, insoluble in water, which is widely used in luminous diode, nanometer and magnetic materials, and molecular recognition fields. The purity of DYNOVA® meta-terphenyl is as high as 99.9%.

Application
Heat Transfer Fluid
The most widely used and the highest temperature liquid phase heat transfer fluid so far is the fluid which is synthesized by terphenyl.
Scintillator
P-terphenyl is the commonest first solute used to produce liquid and plastic scintillators. P-terphenyl creates
fluorescence when excited by radiation and is the illuminant in organic scintillator. It is also the synthetic intermediate in processing laser dyes.
Organic Synthesis
P-terphenyl is the basic material to synthesize antifungal cyclic peptide and biphenyl polyamide materials.
O-terphenyl is used to synthesize the new β- diketone complex which has the potential application in LED
and liquid crystal materials. β- diketone complex produces red LED in semiconductor chips when excited by ultraviolet ray.
Liquid Crystal Electronic
The derivative of p-terphenyl is one of the basic materials to produce biphenyl liquid crystals.
Plastic
P-terphenyl is also used to produce plastic micro beads and plastic foils.
Special Fields
Nanometer materials synthesized by m-terphenyl have the potential applications in organic magnetic materials,
molecular recognitions and other special fields.
Usually with excellent optoelectronic and optical properties, m-terpenes have been widely used in materials science to create conducting polymers, liquid crystal materials, heat storage and heat transfer materials, laser dyes and textile dye carriers, among others.
