Hydroxy Ethyl Cellulose (HEC)
Product Introduction:
HECis a on-ionic, water-soluble polymer derived from cellulose thiough a series of chemical and physical processes.
HELLUTEL HEC is a white to light yellowish, odorless and tasteless powder, readily soluble in hot or cold water to fonn a viscous gel solution. Wlien pH in solution is within 2 to 12, the solution is quite stable. Since HELLUTEL HEC group is nonionic one in water solution, it won't be reacted with other anions or cations and insensitive to the salts. But HEC molecule is capable of generating esterification, etherification and acetal reaction, so it is possible to make it insoluble in water or improve its properties.HELLUTEL HEC also has good film-forming ability and surface activity.
Types and specifications:
Tlie types of HELLUTEL HEC mainly differs in the solution viscosity.

APPLICATIONS
HELLUTEHEC HEC can be used in many fields as thickener, fluid modifier, protective colloid, stabilizer, water-loss contioller, adhesive agent, etc. It's most frequently used maximimi usage is fimctioned in latex paint as thickener and protective colloid. The detailed application is shown as below.
Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a gelling and thickening agent derived from cellulose. It is widely used in cosmetics, cleaning solutions, and other household products. Hydroxyethyl cellulose and methyl cellulose are frequently used with hydrophobic drugs in capsule formulations, to improve the drugs' dissolution in the gastrointestinal fluids. This process is known as hydrophilization.
Hydroxyethyl cellulose is one of the main ingredients in the lubricant KY Jelly. It is also a key ingredient in the formation of big bubbles as it possesses the ability to dissolve in water but also provide structural strength to the soap bubble.
