It is popular in the veterinary medicine industry because of its long efficacy, no side effects and non toxicity. It is increasingly widely used in veterinary medicine. It can be used for the preparation of isoniazid antidote, abamectin injection, long-acting oxytetracycline injection, compound sodium chlorocyanodisalamide, floxacin and other related liquid preparations.

Typical Properties

Glycerol Formal (GF) is a light glyceral acetal, which is composed of about 60% 5-hydroxy-1,3-dioxane and about 40% 4-hydroxymethyl-1,3-dioxane. In the presence of acid catalyst, glycerol reacts with formaldehyde to produce acetone. The potential of GF as an injection solvent for toxicity testing has been reported.
