Structure：
Physicochemical properties: isooctanol is a mixture of carbooctanol. Colorless liquid. The relative density is 0.8315, the boiling point is 185 ~ 190 ℃, and the refractive index is 1.4308. It is prepared by catalytic copolymerization of propylene and butene into mixed HEPTENE, carbonylation and hydrogenation.
Product application: it is used to produce diisooctyl phthalate and as plasticizer of PVC. Isooctanol is used as solvent and preservative, mainly as raw material of PVC plasticizer.

Isooctyl alcohol appears as a clear colorless liquid with a faint pleasant odor. Flash point 180°F. Less dense than water and insoluble in water. Vapors are heavier than air. Used as a solvent, in the making of cutting and lubricating oils, in hydraulic fluids, and in the production of other chemicals.
