。Application

(1).Benzoyl peroxide is an excellent catalyst for free radical polymerization process, used in

the production of polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride and methacrylates and for the cross-

linking of unsaturated polyester resins.

(2).Its catalytic activity will depend on several different factors including type of monomer,

temperature and presence or absence of accelerators or inhibitors.

Typical Properties

Benzoyl peroxide is a strong oxidant, which can be used to bleach organic substances, such as flour and vegetable oil. It can be used as monomer polymerization initiator of polyvinyl chloride, unsaturated polyester and polyacrylate. It can also be used as crosslinking agent of polyethylene, rubber vulcanizing agent, wheat flour brightener, oxidant and bleach.
