Introduction:Guanidine hydrochloride, chemical name amidine hydrochloride, is a white or yellowish block, almost insoluble in acetone, benzene and ether. It can be used as medicine, pesticide, dye and other organic synthetic intermediates. It is an important raw material for the manufacture of sulfadiazine, sulfamethylpyrimidine, sulfadimethylpyrimidine and other drugs and folic acid. It can also be used as an antistatic agent for synthetic fibers.

Purpose: It can be used as medicine, pesticide, dye and other organic synthesis intermediates. It can be used to synthesize 2-Aminopyrimidine, 2-amino-6-methylpyrimidine and 2-amino-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine. It is an intermediate for the manufacture of sulfadiazine drugs such as sulfadiazine, sulfamethylpyrimidine and sulfadimethylpyrimidine. Guanidine hydrochloride (or guanidine nitrate) reacts with ethyl cyanoacetate to cyclize to 2,4-diamino-6-hydroxypyrimidine, which is used to synthesize anti anemia drug folic acid. It can also be used as antistatic agent for synthetic fibers.
