1.1 Microcystins free.
Microcystin is a polypeptide toxin produced during the process of cyanobacterial blooms.
Main source: Microcystis aeruginosa which distributed in eutrophic freshwater lakes.
Microcystin can strongly inhibit the activity of protein phosphatase and has obvious hepatotoxicity. It is a potent cancer promoter for liver cancer.
Test for Microcystins:
Microcystins could be tested by HPLC and Bioanalytical method.
Comparative analysis of Microcystis and Spirulina:
1)The algae species of Microcystis are completely different from the algae species of Spirulina.
Algae species of Microcystis: Pseudomonas aeruginosa and M. Incerta. These species are toxic and inedible.
Algae species of Spirulina: S. plantensis and S. maxima. These species are edible and are five poisonous.
2)The growth environment of Microcystis and Spirulina is different. Microcystis cannot survive in the growth environment of spirulina.
Microcystis growth environment: nitrogen and phosphorus enrichment in water.
Spirulina growth environment: The medium is mainly NaHCO3. NaNO3,NaCL and other strong alkali environment.
In theory,Microcystis cannot survive in the growth environment of spirulina.
Reasons for microcystins production during spirulina culture:
The water source of spirulina culture is contaminated with cyanobacteria containing microcystins.
3)Prevention and control:
The algae species of Spirulina are specially selected, keep the water source clean and to monitor it in real time during the breeding process. If there are abnormalities and timely processing. Strengthen the quality control,QC test for each batch of phycocyanin, and then arrange for storage after passing the test.
1.2 The bacterial count below 1000cfu/g.
1) In-pipe sterilization technology.
2) Ultrafiltration membrane filtration technology.
3) Cryogenic freezing technology
1.3 Technological advantages:
Acquired national technology invention patent
Spec. and Application:
Extraction process for Phycocyanin and CCP
