Ammonium Dimolybdate
1. Product Name: Ammonium Dimolybdate
2. Product specifications: Ammonium Dimolybdate is divided into four grades: MSA-0, MSA-1, MSA-2 and MSA-3 according to the chemical composition and purpose of the product
3. Chemical composition the chemical composition of each brand shall comply with the provisions of Table 1
4. It is recommended to use ammonium dimolybdate dissolved in water and alkali. It is suitable for roasting to produce pure molybdenum trioxide and molybdenum powder. It is also widely used in the production of petroleum refining catalysts such as hydrogenation and desulfurization and Fertilizer Catalysts.
5. The appearance of the product is white loose crystal, without deliquescence, caking and visible inclusions.
6. Packaging product packaging is divided into bags and barrels. The inner packaging is sealed with double-layer plastic bags. Woven bags are adopted for the outer packaging of bags, and the net weight of each bag is 25kg, 50kg and 1000kg respectively; The net weight of each barrel is 25kg when the outer packaging of barrel is fiberboard barrel, and 50kg when the outer packaging of barrel is iron barrel. When the products are sold, the barrels shall be sealed with lead.
7. When other demanders have special requirements, the supplier and the Demander shall negotiate and solve them.
Ammonium dimolybdate (ADM) is the inorganic compound with the formula (NH4)2Mo2O7. It is a white, water-soluble solid. ADM is an intermediate in the production of molybdenum compounds from its ores. Roasting typical ore produces crude molybdenum(VI) oxides, which can be extracted into aqueous ammonia, affording ammonium molybdate. Heating solutions of ammonium molybdate gives ADM. Upon heating the solid, ammonium dimolybdate decomposes to molybdenum trioxide:
(NH4)2Mo2O7 → 2 MoO3 + 2 NH3 + H2O
In terms of its chemical structure, it is a polymeric consisting of distorted octahedral Mo centers liked by tetrahedral molybdate centers.
