2,4,6-Trimethylaniline
Chemical name: 2,4,6-trimethylaniline
CAS:88-05-1
Molecular formula: C9H13N
Properties: This product is a light yellow oily liquid, with a specific gravity of 0.9633 and a boiling point of 232.3 ℃. It is slightly soluble in water and is easily soluble in organic solvents such as acetone. It is easy to oxidize when exposed to light, and its color darkens.
Specification: content ≥ 99%
Uses: dye intermediates, pesticide intermediates
Trimethylaniline is a colorless rhombic crystal, melting point 155 ℃, soluble in alcohol, acetone, etc., and slightly soluble in water.
It can be used as an intermediate of fuel, pesticide, medicine and photoinitiator, and can synthesize trimethylamine and polymer photoinitiator.
Production method: mix sulfuric acid and nitric acid into mixed acid, nitration with mesitylene under 10 ℃ under atmospheric pressure for 4h, stand for layering, and discharge the waste acid. The obtained 2,4,6-trimethylnitrobenzene, iron powder, hydrochloric acid and water were proportioned at the ratio of 1:3.74:0.9:2.22 (mol) and reduced at 100-105 ℃ for 8h. Then crude trimethylaniline is distilled from the reducing substance, and then purified by distillation.
The pure product of m-trimethylaniline is colorless and transparent liquid. It is easy to change color when exposed to air and light. The product is often light brown, insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Trimethylaniline is a kind of intermediate widely used in dye, pesticide and other industries. Trimethylaniline is synthesized from trimethylbenzene, which exists in petroleum. With the realization of large-scale industrial production in China, the output of mesitylene is increasing, so the development of its downstream products has been paid more and more attention. The downstream products of mesitylene, such as mesitylene acid, mesitylene aniline and m-acid, are important chemical products.
