In July, 2002, WEPON was restructured from Wenling Pharmaceutical Factory, a state-owned company. After over a decade of development, WEPON grew into a new and high-tech enterprise engaging in modern TCM, chemical raw materials and research, development, production and sales of them. With a registered capital of 0.36 billion Yuan, it covers a land area of 315 Mu and a floorage of production factories approximate to around 80,000 square meters. It owns 199 approval certificates of pharmaceutical production covering 18 dosage forms.
With science and technology as the leading force, WEPON has opened work stations for academicians and experts, ‘research and development center for provincial new and high-tech companies on heart and cerebral vessels’ and ‘provincial enterprise technological center’, obtained 20 patients (including 15 patents for invention) and had 8 patients for invention under application. Registered trademark of WEPON was rated as a famous trademark in China. For now, WEPON has formed the product pattern ‘characterized by natural plantation herb, dominated by drugs for heart and cerebral vessels and nervous system and supplemented by drugs for respiratory system and other fields’. Its products cover multiple treatment fields including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, nervous system disease, disease of respiratory system and digestive system disease. For now, WEPON has 62 varieties and 78 specifications to be incorporated to National Essential Drugs List, 2012 Edition and 69 varieties that are listed in National Low Price Drug List.
Ginkgo leaf dropping pill and huperzine A, core products of WEPON, are national exclusive varieties. Ginkgo leaf dropping pill is the front-line drug to prevent and cure cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease that falls to souped-up TCM modernized new orally-taken drug and is listed in Torch Project by the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Key Protection Variety, National Health Insurance List and National Essential Drugs List. Huperzine A series synthesized through full synthesis technology by WEPON was the first of its kind the world over and obtained national patent for invention. Bifendate and clozapine raw materials, key products of WEPON have won the title as ‘outstanding products in Zhejiang’.
Following the development strategies in WEPON, it plans to raise 1 billion Yuan to be input in development of medication industry to forge Dexiang green medical park, foster macro varieties for companies, implement 155 projects and form 1 over-1 billion-Yuan product, 5 over-0.1 billion-Yuan products and 5 over 50 million-Yuan products. It also introduces advanced production facilities and regulate product structure to boost marketing competitiveness to aim at realizing sales of over 10 billion at the end of the 13th Five-Year-Plan.
