Product Description and Applications
Taurine: also known as taurocholic acid, its chemical name is 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid. It is white acicular crystal, odorless, slightly acidic in taste, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, ether and acetone, without any toxic and side effects. It was originally found in the bile of male cattle. It is a non protein amino acid, which widely exists in the organism and is also an endogenous amino acid with special physiological functions in the human body.
In the Aspect of Medical Pharmacy
Taurine has the functions of relieving fever, relieving pain, protecting the liver, lowering blood sugar, maintaining normal visual function, regulating nerve conduction, regulating lipid metabolism, bile phosphorus juice decomposition - cholagogic and protecting the liver, participating in endocrine activities, increasing cardiac contractility, and improving human immune capacity. Clinically, it is mainly used to treat colds, fever, neuralgia, tonsillitis, bronchitis, rheumatoid arthritis, various eye diseases and drug poisoning.
(1) Antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects
This product may reduce the body temperature through its effect on the central 5-HT system or catecholamine system. It is reported that 3.6-4.8g taurine taken orally to patients with infectious high fever has a certain antipyretic effect. Animal experiments have proved that this product has the effect of anti staphylococcus, and may have a certain role in improving immune function.
(2) Strong liver and cholagogic effect
The guinea pig experiment proves that taurine can relieve bile obstruction and has cholagogic effect. The combination of taurine and cholic acid can increase bile permeability and is related to bile reflux. Taurine can also reduce the content of cholesterol in the liver, reduce the formation of cholesterol stones, and protect the liver. It has also been confirmed in animal experiments that it can reduce alanine aminotransferase.
(3) Other pharmacological effects
The diet lacking taurine can cause pathological changes in the retina and finally lead to blindness. If taurine is given in time, it can play an important role in maintaining the normal function of the eye. Taurine also has a nutritional effect. Once it is lacking, it can cause stunting, visual impairment and susceptibility to epilepsy in children. [Indications] It is used for fever, upper respiratory tract infection, tonsillitis, bronchitis, acute and chronic hepatitis, dyspepsia, etc.
[Action characteristics]
Children's repeated colds and upper respiratory tract infections are mainly due to low self immunity, or poor growth and development, or poor physical fitness, resulting in poor disease resistance, fever, headache, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, swollen tonsils, cough, etc. Taurine not only has a variety of physiological and pharmacological activities, but also is an indispensable substance for children's growth and development. It can promote the development of brain and optic nerve, promote the absorption of lipids, calcium and vitamins, effectively improve anorexia and malnutrition, promote the growth and reproduction of immune lymphocytes in the body's immune system, and enhance the phagocytosis of neutrophils to bacteria and viruses.
In the Food Industry
Taurine can be added to dairy products, beverages, compound monosodium glutamate and bean products; Accelerate the differentiation and development of nerve cells, enhance the immune capacity of the body, and have a better health care effect on people of different ages; As a food nutrition fortifier, add an appropriate amount of taurine in milk and milk powder, and its nutritional value is close to that of breast milk, especially for the fetus and infants; It can significantly inhibit and treat senile dementia, and improve the brain function and retinal tissue of ordinary people.
In the Daily Chemical Industry
Taurine can also be used as surfactant, humidity regulator, emulsifier, fluorescent whitening agent, PH buffer, detergent intermediate and chemical reagent, aquatic product, animal breeding feed additive and other fields.
In the Feed Additives Industry
Taurine can recuperate the intestines and stomach of animals, induce food and enhance immunity. It is a highly effective pure biological immune enhancer, which can improve the disease resistance and appetite of animals and promote growth. The general dosage is 0.3%~0.5%.
