Raney nickel is a solid heterogeneous catalyst composed of fine grains of nickel aluminum alloy with porous structure. As a hydrogenation catalyst of organic compounds, it can be used in the hydrogenation and reduction of aldehydes, ketones and other compounds containing unsaturated bonds. Renee nickel is very easy to burn when exposed to air, which is dangerous.
