Dimethyl Ether
Product Introduction:
Dimethyl ether is a flammable gas. Mixing with air can form an explosive mixture. Contact with heat, sparks, flames or oxidants is easy to burn and explode. Peroxide with potential explosion risk can be generated in contact with air or under light conditions. Its density is higher than that of air, and can spread to a considerable distance at a lower place. It will catch fire and burn back in case of fire source. In case of high heat, the internal pressure of the container will increase, and there is a risk of cracking and explosion. It is mainly used as methylating agent in the production of dimethyl sulfate. It can also synthesize n, N-dimethylaniline, methyl acetate, acetic anhydride, ethylidene dimethyl ester and ethylene; It can also be used as a substitute for alkylating agent, refrigerant, foaming agent, solvent, leaching agent, extractant, anesthetic, fuel, civil compound ethanol and Freon aerosol. It is used in hair care, skin care, medicine and coating as various aerosol propellants. Fuel additives promoted abroad have many unique uses in pharmaceutical, dye and pesticide industries.
Physicochemical properties:
Dimethyl ether is a colorless gas with slight ether smell. It is inert in heavy oil, non carcinogenic, but neurotoxic. It also has excellent miscibility and can be miscible with most polar and nonpolar organic solvents. 3.700ml dimethyl ether gas can be dissolved in 100ml water, and dimethyl ether is easily soluble in gasoline, carbon tetrachloride, acetone, chlorobenzene, methyl acetate and other organic solvents. After adding a small amount of additives, it can be miscible with water in any ratio. When it burns, the flame is slightly bright.
Dimethyl ether is a colorless, tasteless and odorless gas under normal temperature and pressure, and a liquid under pressure. Its performance is similar to that of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
