Chemical grade hydrogen chloride
Physical and chemical properties
1. Colorless, toxic, irritating, suffocating, non-flammable gas.
2. Strong hygroscopicity. After absorbing moisture in the air, it generates hydrochloric acid, which is highly corrosive.
3. It is heavier than air and generates acid mist in humid air, causing strong smoke.
4, tin chloride, phosphorus trioxide, phosphorus bromide and other inorganic compounds can be dissolved in hydrogen chloride.
5, paraffin, ethanol, ether, ketone, acid, ester, nitroso, cyano and other organic compounds can be well dissolved in hydrogen chloride, and additional reactions or dehydration reactions can occur.
6. Pure liquid hydrogen chloride does not react with most metals. But it reacts with alkali metals, aluminum, manganese, iron, copper, tin, lead, zinc and other metals, and produces a chloride protective film on its surface. When water is present, it reacts with metals to produce metal chlorides and produce hydrogen gas.
use
is mainly used for the vapor phase polishing of monocrystalline silicon wafers in the production of semiconductor devices in the electronics industry, the corrosion of epitaxial bases, and the manufacturing of pharmaceutical intermediates, fine chemicals, and scientific research.
