Cyhalothrin is the only cultivar of the aryloxyphenoxypropionic acid class of herbicides with high safety for rice and, like other cultivars in this class, is an endo - sorbent herbicide. By the leaf and leaf sheath absorption of the plant body, conduction through the phloem, accumulation in the meristem region of the plant body, resistance to acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase), cessation of fatty acid synthesis, growth division of the cell cannot proceed normally, disruption of lipid containing structures such as the membrane system, and finally plant death. The absorption from cyhalothrin to weed death is relatively slow and generally takes 1-3 weeks. The symptoms of the weed after its application are as follows: tender buds at the four leaf stage shrank, leading to death. Old leaves at the two leaf stage showed minimal changes and remained green.
