Sodium p-toluenesulfonate is a white powdery crystal, which is easily soluble in water. It is generally prepared by neutralization with alkali after toluene sulfonation. It is mainly used as conditioner, cosolvent of synthetic detergent and intermediate of pharmaceutical synthesis. Sodium p-toluenesulfonate added to shower gel as a water cosolvent of synthetic detergent can increase water content and have good effects on fluidity, hand feel and anti caking.
