Propionyl bromine, colorless liquid. Soluble in ether. Toxic and corrosive, flammable, slightly lower risk than acetyl bromine. When heated or in case of water or ethanol decomposition, toxic and corrosive hydrogen bromide gas will be released. It is used as a medical intermediate and also used in organic synthesis.
