Acetaminophen is a phenolic organic compound, which is used for fever caused by common cold or influenza. It also relieved mild to moderate pain such as headache, joint pain, migraine, toothache, muscle pain, neuralgia, dysmenorrhea. Acetaminophen is an antipyretic and analgesic drug. It selectively inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins in hypothalamic thermoregulatory center by inhibiting cyclooxygenase, leading to peripheral vasodilation and sweating.
