。Half life data
The reactivity of an organic peroxide is usually given by its half life (t1/2) at various
temperatures. For LQ-K in chlorobenzene:
t = 0.1 hr 1 hr 10 hr
at 96℃ 77℃ 59℃
。Storage
LQ-K Ts max. = 0℃ and
Ts min. = -10℃ to prevent crystallization
When stored according to these recommended storage conditions, LQ-K will remain within our
plant specifications for a period of at least three months after delivery.
。Packaging and transport
The standard packaging is a 25-liter HDPE can for 20 kg peroxide solution. Both packaging and
transport meet the international regulations.
LQ-K is classified as Organic peroxide type D; liquid, temperature controlled; Division 5.2;
UN 3115; PG II.
Rail (RID) and air (ICAO-TI/IATA-DGR) transport are forbidden.
。Major decomposition products
Carbon dioxide, 2,2,4,7,9,9-hexamethyldecane, 2,4,4-Trimethylpentane
。Application
Polymerization of ethylene
LQ-K is an efficient initiator for the ethylene polymerization under high pressure in both
autoclave and tubular processes. To obtain a wide spectrum of polymerization temperatures,
combinations with other peroxides are applied in practice. Depending on reaction conditions,
LQ-K is active in the temperature range of 150-190℃.
Polymerization of vinylchloride
LQ-K is used as an initiator for the suspension and mass polymerization of vinylchloride
between 50℃ and 70℃.
