Properties: Dark orange powder. Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, soluble in tetrahydronaphthalene and xylene. It is dark blue in concentrated sulfuric acid and produces yellow brown precipitation after dilution. It is blue red in alkaline sodium hydroxide reducing solution and orange in acid solution.

Application: Vat orange 9 is used for dyeing cotton, viscose, silk and Uygur cotton and printing of cotton. It has good levelness and affinity.

Properties

Reduced orange 9 as unsubstituted xanthones, however, its yield was not large, with excellent light stability of 6-7 grade and moderate coloration intensity. Its stability is better on fabric printing, but it is not resistant to reductive treatment, and the treatment stability drops in alkaline insurance powder solution, and the colored light changes after the colored fibers are treated.
