Physicochemical properties: colorless crystal. Generally, the commodity is white, gray white or slightly yellow crystal. It is bitter and astringent and has strong deliquescence. The relative density is 1.835. It is easily soluble in water. Its aqueous solution is neutral or slightly alkaline and corrosive. Soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ether. When heated to 260 ℃, dehydration becomes anhydrous. Other chemical properties are similar to anhydrous calcium chloride.
Usage: calcium chloride dihydrate is most widely used in the market as a snow melting agent.
