DETDA (Diethyltoluene diamine) curing agent is an efficient curing agent and chain extender used in polyurethane elastomers and epoxy resins, especially in applications such as reaction injection molding and spraying. The diamine curing agent is easy to adjust the reaction time while avoiding dust operations, and has excellent processing advantages, which can improve product quality.
DETDA (Diethyltoluene diamine) can be used to produce polyurethane and polyurethane polymers at room temperature - only a few aromatic amines have this characteristic. No specific curing procedure is required, and surface treatment can be carried out more safely and quickly at room temperature. When used in epoxy resin, it has a long activation period, a wide temperature range, and can be used at high temperatures.
DETDA (Diethyltoluene diamine) can also be used in special polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, and epoxy resin materials to make low color polymers or transparent components.
Commonly used diamine chain extenders and curing agents include aromatic diamines such as MOCA and DETDA, as well as aliphatic secondary amines and aliphatic secondary amines containing aromatic rings. Aliphatic binary primary amines have high activity and are generally not used as crosslinking agents in aromatic isocyanate systems, only in small quantities for spraying polyurea.

DETDA, as a widely used new liquid aromatic diamine chain extender and curing agent, has a reaction rate with NCO that is several times faster than DMTDA and about 30 times faster than MOCA. It is mainly used in the RIM process in the field of polyurethane.
