English Name: bismuth
CAS No.: 7440-69-9
Molecular formula: Bi
Molecular weight: 208.98
EINECS No.: 231-177-4
Chemical properties: silver white or reddish metal, metallic luster, brittle and hard, orthorhombic coarse-grained crystal. The relative density is 9.80. Soluble in hot sulfuric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, slowly soluble in hot hydrochloric acid, insoluble in water. Stable at room temperature, it will burn in a light blue flame when heated, and produce yellow or brown bismuth oxide. The volume of molten metal increases after condensation.
Application: used for the preparation of semiconductor high-purity materials and high-purity bismuth compounds. Used as coolant for atomic reactors. It is mainly used to produce bismuth containing alloys, low melting point alloys and coolant for nuclear reactors. It is also widely used in the fields of semiconductors, superconductors, flame retardants, chemical reagents, electronic ceramics and so on.
