Used as gas chromatography stationary liquid, emulsifier and thickener. This product is used as emulsifier and stabilizer in medicine, cosmetics, food, pesticide, coating and plastic industry, antistatic agent and soft oiling agent in textile industry.
It is light yellow granular solid at room temperature. When it is higher than the melting point, it is soluble in ethanol and toluene, insoluble in cold water, can be dispersed in warm water, and soluble in (slightly turbid) mineral oil and ethyl acetate above 50 ℃.
