Synopsis:Nevirapine is a non nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor of HIV-1. It is directly connected with HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and blocks RNA dependent and DNA dependent DNA polymerase activities by breaking the catalytic end of the enzyme. Nevirapine combined with other antiretroviral drugs in the treatment of H Ⅳ - 1 infection. This drug alone will soon produce the same drug-resistant virus. Therefore, nevirapine should always be used with at least two other antiretroviral drugs.
