White crystalline powder. Melting point 226-227 ℃, relative density 1.40 (25/4 ℃), solubility (25 ℃, g/100g): 0 in water, 0.04 in benzene, 0.7 in ethyl acetate, 1.4 in methanol, 1.8 in acetone, 8.8 in tetrahydrofuran, 12.0 in dimethylformamide, and 13.7 in methyl cellulose acetate.
It is used to prepare thermosetting resins, modified resins, amino coatings and plastics, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and dyes.
1. Like melamine, the metal coating phenylmelamine, in addition to being used as an intermediate of special chemicals, reacts with formaldehyde to form hydroxymethylated phenylmelamine, which is used as molding materials and resin fiber processing aids for lamination. Hydroxymethylated phenylmelamine is further modified with alcohol to obtain alkylate, which becomes a coating mainly used for metals.
2. The use of melamine as decorative plate is the most distinctive method. In addition, the resin impregnated paper can make the surface of the concrete plate smooth and smooth, easy to demould, and has excellent durability.
3. The use and demand of fluorescent pigments based on phenylmelamine resin as colorants and printing inks for polypropylene, polyethylene, hard and soft PVC resins are also developing. Benzyl melamine is further reacted to produce butanol etherified benzenemelamine formaldehyde resin and methanol etherified benzenemelamine formaldehyde resin. They can be used as crosslinking agents for baking coatings, and can be mixed with alkyd resin and acrylic resin to make coatings.
4. In addition, the hydroxymethyl compound of phenylmelamine can be mixed with urea-formaldehyde resin, phenolic resin and melamine-formaldehyde resin to produce molding materials.
