Physicochemical properties: white crystalline powder, with smell similar to garlic and sour taste. Hygroscopic, easily soluble in water or ethanol, insoluble in ether and chloroform. Acidic in aqueous solution (pH 2-2.75 in 10g / L H2O), mp101-107 ℃.

Melting point: 106 ~ 108℃

Water solubility: H2O: 100 mg / ml with heating

Application: it is used in biochemical research and medicine as a drug for dissolving phlegm and an antidote for acetaminophen poisoning.
