Performance and use:
Diisobutyl phthalate is a colorless transparent oily liquid with molecular formula C16H22O4, molecular weight 278.35, relative density (d2020) 1.040, compatible with most resins such as cellulose acetate and polyvinyl chloride. It can be used as a toughening agent for cellulose resin, vinyl resin, nitrile rubber, chlorinated rubber, and the like. The plasticizing ability is similar to DBP, but the volatility and water extraction are larger than DBP. It can be used as a substitute for DBP. The toxicity coefficient is T=500, which is not suitable for PVC film.
