General purpose products, widely used in industries include indoor & outdoor coatings latex paints, industrial coatings, powder coatings, road sign paints, anti-corrosive paint, antifouling paint, marine paint. The products can also be used in plastics (PVC, PE, polystyrene and polyurethane etc.
◆ Application in the coating industry
Pigment-grade titanium dioxide is non-toxic, good whiteness, high refractive index, strong achromatic power, large hiding power, good dispersion, stable physical and chemical properties, and has excellent optical and electrical properties. As a pigment, titanium dioxide can play a role in industrial production, such as coloring, brightening and improving product quality. Pigment-grade titanium dioxide with particle size between 200 ~ 400nm not only has the properties of electrostatic shielding, ultraviolet shielding, wear resistance and scratch resistance, but also can improve the adhesion of the coating and prevent the coating from sagging.
Water-based paint, emulsion paint, interior and exterior wall paint, industrial paint, solvent-based paint, water-based products and other industries.
◆ Application in the plastic industry
Titanium dioxide has excellent processability, and excellent optical properties, and the characteristics of fine particle size, good particle size distribution, white color, and easy dispersion in the plastic masterbatch. Titanium dioxide is especially recommended for polyolefin master batch and can be used with many polymers and in mixing when durability is not a key element.
Titanium dioxide for plastic masterbatch is especially used in the manufacturing of various medium and high-grade plastic masterbatches, plastic floor adhesives, PVC, pipes, rubber products, linoleum, color wallpaper, injection molding and compression molding materials and other plastic industries, as well as PVC, polystyrene, polyolefin and engineering plastics.
◆ Application in the rubber industry
Titanium dioxide/Titania can be used not only as a colorant in the rubber industry but also as a reinforcement, filling, anti-aging and acid-base resistance. Adding titanium dioxide to white and light-colored rubber products can make the finished products acid-base resistant, noncracking, nonfading, improve the strength and elongation of products, and delay aging.
◆ Application in the ink industry
Titanium dioxide/Titania is light-resistant, heat-resistant, weather-resistant, and hydrophobic, with a high refractive index, small and uniform particle size, good whiteness and light diffusion, strong coloring power and covering power, and good physical and chemical stability. Titania has become an indispensable white pigment in ink manufacturing, and also a necessary raw material for the deployment of many intermediate color ink products. The ink containing titanium dioxide is easy to disperse, durable and has good surface wettability. Adding pigment-grade titanium dioxide to the water-based ink can make the ink strong in coloring, easy to disperse, and durable.
◆ Application in the papermaking industry
The paper industry is the third largest user of titanium dioxide. As a paper filler, the paper using titanium dioxide has good whiteness, high strength, and luster, thin and smooth, and does not penetrate during printing. The application of nano titanium dioxide in the paper industry can make the paper bright, UV resistant, stable and not easy to yellowing. Titanium dioxide for paper making generally uses anatase titanium dioxide without surface treatment, which can play the role of fluorescent brightener and increase the whiteness of the paper. However, the laminated paper requires the use of rutile titanium dioxide with a surface treatment to meet the requirements of light resistance and heat resistance.
