8-hydroxyquinoline copper is a green to yellow crystalline powder, odorless and tasteless, non-volatile, nondeliquescent, noncombustible, decomposes and turns black at high temperature, insoluble in water and most organic solvents, slightly soluble in quinoline, pyridine, glacial acetic acid, chloroform, weak acid, soluble in strong acid, and decomposes with alkali.
In agriculture, it is used as a fungicide to prevent and control apple ring rot.
It is also used as an anti-mildew agent for ropes, threads, leather and vinyl plastics.
Pesticide, pharmaceutical synthetic metal inhibitor
