Appearance:White to grayish white crystalline powder
Synopsis:Penicillin V potassium salt is a penicillin antibiotic. The antibacterial spectrum is the same as that of penicillin. It has antibacterial activity against most Gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative cocci, individual Gram-negative bacteria (such as Haemophilus), spirochetes and actinomycetes, but most Staphylococcus strains including Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase negative Staphylococcus can produce antibacterial activity β Lactamases inactivate the product by hydrolysis. The activity of this product to most sensitive strains is 2-5 times weaker than that of penicillin. It has no antibacterial effect on penicillinase producing strains.
