Fosfomycin trometamol is used as an antibiotic drug, It is used for the treatment of acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections caused by sensitive bacteria (e.g.: acute cystitis, acute exacerbation of chronic cystitis, acute urobladder syndrome, non-specific urethritis, asymptomatic bacteriuria during pregnancy, urinary tract infection after surgery) and for the prevention of urinary tract infections during surgical procedures and infections caused by transurethral diagnostic maneuvers.
