Chemical properties White to light yellow crystals, with a cherry and balsamic scent. {Melting point 34°C. The boiling point is 260°C, and the refractive index (nD20) is 1.5670. The relative density (d435) 1.0700. Natural products are contained in basil oil (up to 52%), galangal oil and cassia leaf oil.

Uses: GB 2760 stipulates that it is temporarily allowed to use edible spices. Has a good fragrance fixation effect. It is mainly used to prepare flavors such as cherries, strawberries and grapes.

Uses: Used in the perfume industry as a fixative, often used in the preparation of carnations and oriental floral fragrances, used in soaps, detergents, and also used in flavors and cakes. As an intermediate in organic synthesis, it is mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry.
