Introduction:
Traflouridine is an antiviral drug. It has inhibitory effect on herpes simplex virus, and its effect is similar to that of sulfoside. The antiviral mechanism may be to inhibit the activity of some DNases or phosphorylate them into monophosphates, diphosphate and triphosphates by thymidine kinase. Monophosphates can be embedded into viral DNA, thus interfering with DNA synthesis and viral replication.
