Brief introduction

Propylene glycol ethers have two groups with strong solvency inthe chemical structure - ethers and hydroxyl groups, The formeris lipophilic and can dissolve hydrophobic compounds; the latteris hydrophilic, soluble in water-soluble compounds, and is aversatile solvent with excellent performance, and is known as a"universal" solvent. 

Propylene glycol ethers can be used as solvents for alkyd resin,acrylic resin and polyester paint etc. In painting industry, surfacefifilms of those paints prepared for the aid of it being characterizedby clean, even and fast. It can substitute for alcohol solventsduring the resolution of dyes as a good kind of coupler, besides inthe production of printing ink, changing some formulas by usingin can reduce toxicity, so as to improve operation environmentand printing quality.
