Naphthol AS-E is an effective inhibitor of kix-kid interaction with cell permeability. Chromophenol AS-E directly binds to KIX domain of CBP and blocks the interaction between KIX domain and kid domain. Therefore, Naphthol AS-E can be used in cancer research. At present, Naphthol AS-E is mainly used for dyeing cotton, viscose fiber and silk, but not for printing. It is often used with blue base or blue salt to dye dark blue and navy blue. It is also used to make lake pigments.
