Synopsis：γ- Butyrolactone (GBL) is a colorless oily liquid that is easily deliquescent. It has a weak characteristic odor and can be dissolved in water. γ- Butyrolactone is a common solvent and reaction reagent in chemistry. It is also used as an aromatic, detergent, cyanoacrylate remover, paint remover and solvent for some liquid aluminum electrolytic capacitors. In the manufacture of lithium batteries, γ- Butyrolactone is regarded as a special non-aqueous solution of lithium ion.
