Pure Light yellow to off-white granule、powder、dome-shaped, it is a mixture of 4-methyl-benzotriazole and 5-methyl-benzotriazole, the melting point is from 83℃ to 86℃, soluble in alcohol, benzene、 toluene、chloroform and watery lye, and hardly soluble in water.

Usage：

It is mainly used as antirust additives and corrosion inhibitor for metals( such as silver、copper、 zinc、lead、nickel、etc...), and for antirust oil (tallow) products, the gas phase corrosion inhibitor of copper and aldary, lubricant additive, cycle water treating compound and auto antifreeze. It also can be used with manifold scale inhibitor and sterilization algaecide, it works as corrosion inhibitor very well especially in close cycle cooling water system.

Properties

This product is mainly used as antirust agent and corrosion inhibitor for metals (silver, lead, nickel, zinc, copper and copper metals). It is widely used in antirust oil (ester) products, and is mainly used in copper and copper alloy vapor phase corrosion inhibitor, circulating water treatment agent, lubricating oil additive, etc. The product can also be used with a variety of scale inhibitors, bactericides and algicides, especially for circulating cooling water system. It can be used not only in combination with organic corrosion inhibitor, but also in a separate way. Methyl benzotriazole and BTA have the same inhibition effect on copper and copper alloy, but in pickling solution, the inhibition effect of methyl benzotriazole is slightly stronger than that of BTA. When the mixture of methyl benzotriazole and BTA is used, the corrosion inhibition effect is better.
