Properties

(2-chloro-5-iodophenyl) (4-fluorophenyl) ketone is an intermediate for the synthesis of epallegin. Epallegin is a type 2 sodium glucose cotransporter inhibitor jointly developed by Boehringer Ingelheim and Eli Lilly. Sglt-2 inhibitor is a new hypoglycemic drug. It mainly reduces the reabsorption of glucose by the kidney and increases the excretion of glucose in urine by inhibiting sglt-2 expressed in the kidney, so as to reduce the level of plasma glucose. Its hypoglycemic effect does not depend on β Cell function and insulin resistance.
