Molecular formula: Fe2O3
Molecular weight: 159.69
Chemical properties: Ferric oxide, also known as iron lead, iron red, red powder, etc., has the chemical formula Fe2O3, which is dissolved in hydrochloric acid and is a red transparent powder of cubic crystal system. The particles are fine and the particle size is 0.01 ~ 0.05 μ m. Large specific surface area (10 times of ordinary iron oxide red), strong ultraviolet absorption performance, excellent light resistance and atmospheric resistance. When the light is projected on the paint film or plastic containing transparent iron oxide red pigment, it is transparent. The relative density is 5.7g/cm3 and the melting point is 1396 ℃. It is a new variety of iron series pigments with unique properties.
Usage: It is used as antirust pigment in industry. It is also used as colorant for rubber, artificial marble and ground terrazzo, colorant and filler for plastics, asbestos, artificial leather and leather polishing paste, polishing agent for precision instruments and optical glass, and raw material for manufacturing magnetic materials and ferrite components.
