Sodium naphthalene formaldehyde sulphonate condensate is a high range water reducer, commonly referred to as a super plasticizer, also named Naphthalene Sulphonate Formaldehyde Condensate (short name: SNF, PNS, FDN, etc…)
Sodium naphthalene formaldehyde sulphonate condensate is made from naphthalene, sulfuric acid, formaldehyde and liquid alkali, through sulfonation, hydrolyzation, condensation and neutralization reaction and then drying to powder. SNF-A 5% contains very small chloride. Thus, it meets the requirements of chemical admixture specifications for concrete: GB 8076-2008.
1. Appearance: Light brown powder& dark brown liquid. Non-poisonous, odorless, non-flammable and non-corrosive to steel bars.
2. Remarkable Plasticity: As a condition of blending where the amount of cement and collapsibility are fixed aforehand, mixing water can be decreased by 18-28% when it is admixed with reinforced concrete at 0.5-1.0%. Statistically, compression strength on the 1st day, the 3 rd day and the 28th day after a single application is increased by 60-90% and 25-60% respectively when it is added at standard blend dosage. As the result, compression strength, tensile strength, buckling strength and modulus of elasticity will be improved to some extent
3. Improve miscibility of concrete amalgamator with water and collapsibility as well. As a condition of equivalent blending, collapsibility can be increased 5-8 times when it is added at 0.75% blend dosage.
4.15-20% of cement can be reserved when the agent is blended at 0.75% blend dosage, which is preconditioned by the same collapsibility and strength.
SNF produces concrete with extremely workable characteristics referred to as high slump.SNF also allows concrete to be produced with very low water/cement ratios at low or normal slumps.SNF is ideal for use in pre-stress, precast, bridge decks, or any concrete where it is desired to keep the water/cement ratio to a minimum and still achieve the degree of workability necessary to provide easy placement and consolidation.SNF will also fluidize concrete, making it ideal for tremie concreting or other applications where high slumps are desired.SNF is compatible with Portland Cement, Normal Portland cement, Portland Slag Cement, Fly-ash Cement, Portland Pozzolanic Cement, etc.
1 .Blending dosage at 0.5%-1.0%, 0.75% mixing dosage advised.
2. Prepare solutions as required.
3. Direct use of powder agent is allowed. Alternatively, the addition of the agent is followed by water moisturization (water-cement ratio:60%).
4. The agent can be combined with other externally applied agents if pilot development or laboratory experiment succeeds.
SNF produces high slump flowable concrete with no loss in strength. SNF produces low water/cement ratio concrete and therefore, high strengths. SNF in prestress/precast work can be used to substantially reduce or eliminate the high energy requirements of external heat for accelerated curing. SNF concrete, even at a high slump, exhibits no significant segregation in comparison to concrete without a super-plasticizer at the same slump. SNF aids in the rapid discharge of concrete from truck mixers thereby reducing on-the-job time and improving mixer utilization.
