· It is used as an intermediate of pyrimidine and in the synthesis of and dyes.
· P-cyanobenzyl, namely p-chlorophenylacetonitrile, is an intermediate for the preparation of 3-methyl-2 - (4-chlorophenyl) butyric acid. It can be used to prepare pyrethroid insecticides such as bromofenpropathrin and pyrimidine in industry.
· Stable under normal temperature and pressure.
· This product is highly toxic. It is highly irritating to skin and eyes and has tear inducing effect. When splashing on the skin, wash with ethanol.
