Preparation method:
It is obtained from the dried non flowering buds of myrtle lilac tree by steam distillation. The color darkens and thickens after aging or exposure to air.
It is miscible in benzyl benzoate, diethyl phthalate, propylene glycol and vegetable oil, soluble in 70% ethanol, soluble in ethanol and glacial acetic acid, insoluble in water, glycerol and minerals.
It is quite stable to organic acids.
Quality standard:
Phenol content (calculated by eugenol volume): ≥ 85%
Heavy metal test (GT-16-5): negative
Phenol test: negative
Optical rotation: - 1.5 ° ~ 0 °
Solubility in alcohol (OT-43): 1m sample is soluble in 2ml 70% ethanol
Packaging and storage:
