It is obtained from the leaves and terminal twigs of Melaleuca species of myrtle family by steam distillation.
Quality standard:
Properties: colorless to light yellow, clear and flowing liquid
Relative density (20 / 20 ℃): 0.885 ~ 0.906
Refractive index: 1.4750 ~ 1.48820
Optical rotation: + 5 ° ~ + 15 °
Solubility: 1m sample can be dissolved in 2ml 85% ethanol
Content: terpineol-4 (35% ~ 41%) and eucalyptus oil less than 1.8%.
