Cefoxitin sodium is a cephalosporin antibiotic, which is often classified as the second generation cephalosporin. Cefoxitin sodium interferes with cell wall synthesis. Its activity spectrum includes Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

The chemical formula of cefoxitin sodium is C₁₆H₁₈N₃NaO₇S_2, molecular weight of 451.44. It is very soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol.

Purpose:
