Coumarone-Indene Resin
Brief Introduction
Coumarone resin is also known as coumarin resin and oxyindene resin. A thermoplastic resin formed by polymerization or copolymerization of coumarin and indene or their homologues and their derivatives contained in the 160 ~ 185 ℃ fraction of coal tar. Transparent to black viscous liquid or solid. The solid is brittle and hard. Heating melts and darkens the color. Resistant to acid and alkali, soluble in organic solvents such as ether, ketone, nitrobenzene and most fatty oils. It is mainly used to replace natural resin or esterified rosin as rubber softener (both tackifying and reinforcing), ceramic binder, auxiliary processing agent, brightener and plasticizer for ink, linoleum and artificial leather. It can be used to make ground blocks in buildings.
