Trimethyl phosphate is an organic reagent, stable at room temperature, good solubility in various resins, low viscosity, low hue, so it can be used as a special solvent; Epoxy resin additives (reduce viscosity); Anti colorant in polyester fiber processing (improving dyeing quality); Textile oiling agent; As a gasoline additive, it can prevent knock, improve octane number and improve the storage stability of leaded gasoline; It can also be used as a control agent for gasoline surface ignition and a decomposition inhibitor of tetraethyl lead at high temperature; Non corrosive gasoline additive; Catalyst for polyester fiber polymerization; Modifier for graphite products; Plasticizer; Extraction agent; Pesticide raw materials. Trimethyl phosphate hydrolyzes with water, so it should be kept damp proof. Because of its hydrolysis, PO43 - is released, which becomes a homogeneous precipitant to form insoluble phosphate precipitation. It is often used as a precipitation reagent for zirconium and hafnium and as a diffusion source for the determination of semiconductors.
